Paneer Pakoda is delicious, tasty and crispy fried fritters made of fresh cottage cheese and gram flour batter. It is one of the most preferred and delicious snack. However, these tasty paneer pakoda are crisp from outside and soft from inside.
INGREDIENTS FOR PANEER PAKODA
- 125 to 150 gram paneer (cottage cheese)
- 1 cup besan (gram flour)
- Turmeric powder (haldi)
- 1 to 2 pinch red chilli powder (lal mirch powder)
- Asafoetida (hing)
- 1 to 2 pinch garam masala powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ajwain (carom seeds)
- 2/3 to 3/4 cup water or as required
- Salt as required
- Mustard oil for deep frying
- Some chaat masala for sprinkling
HOW TO MAKE PANEER PAKODA
- Step 1
Cut the paneer in the shape of your choice. Sieve the gram flour with salt and red chili powder and add some water to make a thick batter.
- Step 2
Now throw in the green chilies, add the carom seeds and the ginger and garlic paste and Mix well. Preferably beat the batter with a whisker. Allow it to rest for 20 minutes.
- Step 3
Heat oil in a deep bottomed pan. Once smoke starts coming out of it, dip the paneer pieces in the batter and fry. Do not put more than two pieces at a time. Crowding the pan may lead to over cooking or incomplete cooking of the pakoras.
- Step 4
Once the pakoras are fried from one side, flip and cook the other side. Remove from fire and place on an absorbent paper. Serve hot with green chutney.
